The Gory Gothic Clothing Trend

Gothic! What comes to your mind when I say this? Darkness? Melancholy? Well it is the exact thought.  It’s kind of exotic and mysterious. Gothic fashion has a dark tone in it. Though the members of the Goth subculture popularly wore it, today it is prevalent worldwide. Starting from teenagers to popularly celebrities, it is sported by many. Goth fashion typically includes black hair, pale skin, black attire and black lips too. The male and female equally wear dark black eyeliner and nail polishes. As it has a tone of melancholy in it, Goth fashion is often confused with emo fashion.

Uniqueness of Gothic Fashion

The general characteristics:

It is believed that Gothic clothing trend owes it foundation to the Victorian mourning cult. The singular feature of the Gothic clothing trend is its solid black tone. It is mainly characterized with fishnets, lace, and velvets. The women prefer tight corsets, gloves and stilettos. The jewelry mainly depicts theme of religious or occult values.  It has a sadist tone in it.

A change with Gothic fashion

Coming to the question of trend, I can assure you that it the most talked about theme. Lorde or Jennifer Lawrence, everyone seems to sport this look these days.  The dark makeup and clothes are in trend. Black is difficult to carry always though. In the extremes of heat it becomes almost unbearable.  I am not really a Goth person, but certain aspects of Goth fashion do interests me highly. The jewelries of Gothic theme attract me the most. Though I am believer of the supreme, the Antichrist theme is often beautifully portrayed in the Gothic jewelries. Punk rockers and practitioners of hard rock often take up the Goth fashion trend. The Gothic clothing trend is sometimes confused with the hard rock music theme. Guys, you are wrong if you think so. The hard rock listeners take up this Gothic theme most often. So people who are planning to sport this look, I have a little advice for you. If you really want to try the Gothic look, consider investing in some awesome dark lipsticks, liquid liner and long black dresses.  These are just the basics though. If you are a fresher and you like the theme, try investing in some chains and jewelries, which you can wrap around your body. It completes the look more or less. Remember, to the Goths, the gothic clothing trend is not just style; it’s a way of life!
