New Romantic – New Wave


New Romantic was a fresh and New Wave on fashion movement that occurred mostly in British and Irish Night clubs. New Wave, New Romantic and Goth fashion at the 70s and 80s were a great deal influenced by punk fashion:

·       Outrageous Clothing [some of which reproduced from bondage wear and some are New Romantic],

·       Streaky eyeliner, spike – hair style.



   
                             New  Romantics appeared in the UK music scene in the early period of '80s, which acts as nonstop reaction committee property. The New Romantics distinguished glamour and celebration frequently at local nightclubs.

The make-up was streaky-look and daring. The eccentric designer Leigh Bowery recognized for his enthusiastic designs which grown to be a muse for favorite artists such as Boy George and Duran and had developed an enormous position in the early 1980s underground club scene.

Vivienne Westwood was the initial designer of the punk look. Vivienne’s early job was mostly designing clothing especially for brands such as “Adam and the Ants”, and then later developed for the “Pirate Look”.

The Pirate Look attribute full-sleeved and frilled adventurer shirts frequently constructed of expensive fabric materials. Hussar style jackets with gold-braiding were worn with the shirts additionally high-waisted loose-fitting trousers which peter out at the ankle.

Colin Swift, Stevie Stewart and David Holah were also significant New Ro designers. One aspect of this trend went typical and remained well-liked for most of the decade, was short shirt collars worn stretched out against the neck (also named as popped collars) with the top one or two buttons slack.
