How to make Terracotta Jewels??

Simple and easy steps to make the terracotta jewel set with earring:

Like most other jewelry making, terracotta jewelry making is simple. There are many choices of clay. I prefer natural clay because its water based.

First we have to press the clay tightly to release excess moisture and air bubbles in them. If the clay is too hard, you can add some little water but should not pour too much water because it can make the clay runny and hard to mold.

Once the clay is pressed well and clear with dust particles, it can be used to form any kind of shape. Then cut small piece of clay and roll it in your hand to make small beads. If you know the exact weight for small beads, roll it in a bead roller to form uniform beads.

Using a needle, gently put holes in the beads. These holes are for running the cord for making chains. Let it air dry for a couple of days or sundry for single day. Then baking can be done to strengthen the beads. Once it is baked it will not broke even it falls down. So, baking process is most needed to make the jewelry.

For earring and pendant also we have to do the baking process.., Earring and pendant designs can be made by some molds which are easy to make the product and it look more perfect.

After the beads and pendants are baked, it is now ready to be painted. We can use any acrylic paint base. String the beads to form a beautiful necklace.
